Login and Dashboard
Login
Once a user has an account in LearningSpace, they can log in by providing their Email address and Password in the corresponding fields of the login page.

Login issues
Unknown User / Incorrect Password
When trying to log in with an unknown user account (not registered or inactive in your LS system) or with an incorrect password, you will see the following warning message:

Contact your LS system administrator for assistance or use the “Forgot your password?” option.
Forgotten Password
The Forgot your password? link helps the user enter LearningSpace by sending a new password to the provided email address.
If the username or email you entered is correct (i.e., registered within the system), you will receive further instructions via email. Otherwise, you should contact your LS administrator.

Temporary Password
If successfully identified within the system, you will receive a temporary password if no LDAP authentication is enabled for your account.
For more information, see How can I configure LDAP login?

Once logged in, the user can change their password via the User Account Settings accessed by clicking the user name in the top right corner of the home page.
Computer Blocked
The computer will be temporarily blocked in case the password is entered incorrectly three times.
Once redirected to the login page, repeated login attempts can be started after 15 minutes.

In the event of a forgotten or incorrect password, LearningSpace users can also contact their system administrators for assistance. They can either log in to the affected computer and disable the blocking or help reset the LearningSpace password.
Dashboard
The LearningSpace Dashboard displays all available modules for the logged-in user. In the Your Events panel, all events in which the user participates are listed, along with direct links to the tasks and information relevant to each event. Start typing into the Search field to find events.

Navigation is located on the left side of the screen, creating a Side menu to enable easier access across the pages.

The side menu is toggleable for more space on the focused content.

As the roles assigned in LearningSpace allow for varying access levels, the Dashboard view differs significantly for users with different roles. Administrators have access to all task areas; other users will have access to (and thus have icons on their Dashboard that allow them to access) only those functions that their account profile allows them to see.
User Account Settings
In the top right corner of the page, users can click their name to access User Account Settings and LearningSpace information, or log out. The User Account Settings allow users to change the software's password or language.

IMPORTANT User Manager is available for Admin users only. Here, new users and groups can be added, or existing ones can be edited.

The full range of LearningSpace offers the following modules:
Recording - Making video and audio recordings in rooms with cameras or microphones (including adding annotations to live videos or filling out the Performance checklist)
Video Review - Reviewing video and audio recordings (including adding annotations or filling out the Performance checklist)
Reports - Accessing reports about learner performance
SCE Management - Creating, modifying, and managing Simulated Clinical Experiences (SCEs)
Calendar - Scheduling events (including SCE and participant assignment)
System - Managing system settings and security; setting up rooms, cameras, and simulators; or downloading utilities
Dark mode
In LearningSpace Essentials, dark mode can be enabled for all pages by using the Dark theme toggle:

Strong Password Requirements
Your new password has to be at least eight characters long and needs to contain at least one of each of the following character types:
Upper case letters (A-Z)
Lowercase letters (a-z)
Digits (0-9)
Special characters (e.g. ! @ # $ % & *, etc.)
SSO Login
SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication is supported in LearningSpace.
Once SAML SSO is enabled, and a LearningSpace user would like to log into LS, they cannot do that via the LS login page. When the user enters the LearningSpace URL, the Shibboleth SP (which runs on the main application server) will redirect them to the Identity Provider (IdP) login surface.
For more information, visit the SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication page.
