Recording Module
Important Note for Enterprise Lite Users
This feature is for use with in-campus audiovisual (AV) inputs. Hence, it is not available for LearningSpace Enterprise Lite, which is used for web-conferencing-based virtual simulation encounters only. To unlock this feature, please upgrade to the LearningSpace Enterprise solution.
Available to users with Admin, Video Control, Video Full Control, Live Video, or FON Data Entry privileges
Click Recording on the Dashboard.

Manual Recording Start
You land on the Center Overview (CO) page, where you can
see live camera feeds of all the rooms available in your system
start and stop recordings
assign Activity/Case/Learner to recordings
utilize PTZ or select PTZ Presets
and perform more, recording-related actions (incl. using the Intercom)

If your system is a single-room configuration, the Recording tile on your dashboard navigates directly to Single Room View (SRV).
Push-Button Functionality
This feature allows a physical button (Push-button) to be used
to start and stop video recording for a specific room;
to control Privacy mode for SP users.
If an RNSA (Running Non-Scheduled Activity) is set for the room or Advanced scheduling is used, the information will be tied to the recording (Activity, Case, SP, and learner assignments).

Record Control
Light indication colors of the Push-Button functioning as a Record control button have the following statuses:

Privacy Control (Privacy Mode for SPs)
Light indication colors of the Push-button functioning as a Privacy control button change according to the following statuses:

For more details about the Privacy mode function, go to the Privacy Mode for Standardized Patients (SPs) or How to Manage Privacy Mode for SP Users pages.
NOTE: If a DCU/encoder and cameras are present in the room, with Privacy Mode enabled on the cameras, users can activate privacy mode in the room using the SP toolbar or push button. However, privacy mode will only be enabled on the cameras and not on the DCU/encoder.
Automatic Recording
Important Note about Automatic Recordings
Recordings are performed automatically when:
RNSA login has been set in a room, and video start and stop triggers have been defined in Activities
OR
An event booked in a room has been created with Advanced Scheduling and has a timeslot structure that controls the video recordings.
The above settings will be referred to in the guide as automatic recordings. Automatic recordings may override certain functionalities that would otherwise be available.

Limited Record Control Access
What does "limited" mean?
If user-action controlled video recording or a timeslot structure is applied in the room, the Admin, Video Full Control, and Video Control users cannot modify the settings on the Record control panel during recording.
The details of the recording are also filled in once the recording launches automatically:

The users can pause, replay the recording, and go live. They can even stop the recording; however, once a recording is stopped manually, automatic recording control settings are suspended, and the recording will be saved in Video Review.
Automatic recording control may restore itself if no manual record control exists in the room.
user-action control will not apply until a new recording is relaunched with a video start user-action
the timeslot structure will automatically override the manual settings once a new timeslot begins

Video Control User Special Access
Special Access to Video Creation for Video Control Users
If a Video Control user tries to access a room where an activity is already added by scheduling, non-scheduled activity setup and the user is not a member of the activity's faculty group, the room appears as "Not Available!" on Center Overview (CO), and s/he cannot enter.
⚠️ There is an exception when the Video Control user can access the room of an activity even if they are not assigned to it as faculty:
If the Activity is added by another user (Admin or Video Full Control) to the room using the Record control panel
In this case, the Video Control user can start or create a recording in the room if needed—if there are no users (intentionally or unintentionally) in the activity's faculty who can access Recording.
The Video Control user is limited to recording controls: start, play/pause, Go live!, stop but cannot add annotations or adjust the Record control panel.

About the FON Data Entry Privilege
With the FON Data Entry privilege, a user can submit Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) checklists. The Recording module is also available on the FON user's dashboard: the system enables FON users to view live recordings of learners and submit FON checklists simultaneously.
To view, access, and edit the Data entry panel during live recording:
The activity, case, learner group, and at least one learner must be added to the Record control panel.
The name(s) of the learner(s) currently being recorded will be displayed at the bottom of the Record control panel. The FON user is able to evaluate several users or even the entire group all at once.
Data in the Record control panel is either filled automatically if user-action-triggered video recording or Advanced Scheduling is in use or manually adjusted by an Admin, a Video Control, or a Video Full Control user.
During recording, the FON data entry user cannot modify details on the Record control panel (not even adding or removing learners).
FON users can edit the Record control panel and select learners while there is no recording in progress.
⚠️ However, settings entered on the Record control panel by a FON user are overridden by any other user's settings—Admin, Video Control, or Video Full Control—or automatic recording settings—user-action triggered video recording or timeslot structure within a scheduled event—at the moment the recording is launched.
FON user needs to be a faculty member of the activity added to or scheduled in the room
The case assigned to the activity needs to contain a Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) checklist.
A FON Data Entry user cannot launch or stop recordings; therefore, they cannot create recordings.
Live Video and FON Data Entry Special Access
Special Access to Rooms for Live Video and FON Data Entry Users
If Live Video or FON Data Entry users try to access a room where an Activity has already been added but not as members of the activity's faculty group, the room appears as "Not Available!" on Center Overview—CO, and they cannot enter.
There is an exception when the Live Video or FON Data Entry user can access the room of an activity even if they are not assigned to it as faculty:
if the activity is added by another user (Admin, Video Full Control, or Video Control) to the room using the Record control panel
In this case, the Live Video user can pause/play and click Go live!, can add annotations but cannot save them.
FON Data Entry users can do data entry, pause/play the recording, Go live!, add annotations, and even save them as presets.
