# ▪️ How can I connect a simulator? LearningSpace can accommodate **Elevate Healthcare** and **third-party simulators**. Depending on the LearningSpace system you are using, there are different hardware configurations required: ### Wireless connection to an Elevate Healthcare simulator * *UltraPortable:* USB WiFi adapter included with the UltraPortable * *ONE appliance:* * LearningSpace Enterprise/Essentials/Experience: 2 wireless antennas of the ONE appliance * LearningSpace Intuity: USB WiFi adapter, included with the ONE appliance * *Server appliance:* an Elevate Healthcare **Wireless Bridge** is required (optional accessory) :::warning If connected directly to a network (without a Wireless Bridge), the simulator will not be detected, and the setup will not function as intended. ::: ### Wired connection to an Elevate Healthcare simulator * *UltraPortable:* dedicated Ethernet connection on the back of the laptop on the left * *ONE appliance:* dedicated Ethernet connection, labeled "#2" or "Sim." * *Server appliance:* an Elevate Healthcare Wireless Bridge is required (optional accessory) :::warning If connected directly to a network (without a Wireless Bridge), the simulator will not be detected, and the setup will not function as intended. ::: ### Capturing the waveform display of any third-party simulator * *UltraPortable:* using the USB FrameGrabber (AVIO.HD or DVI2USB), included with the UltraPortable * *ONE appliance:* using the built-in Display Capture capability, using the HDMI input * *Server appliance:* an HDMI encoder (formerly DCU)is required; an optional accessory # Connecting Elevate Healthcare simulators wirelessly 1. First, LearningSpace has to establish a wireless connection to the Elevate Healthcare simulator to do this. 2. In case there are no Wireless Bridges listed on the left side panel, make sure that: 1. In case the simulator is not listed when trying to connect to the WiFi network: 1. Make sure the simulator is powered on 2. Move closer to the simulator 3. Connect to the selected Elevate Healthcare simulator 4. The Elevate Healthcare simulator will show up within 10-30 seconds on the right-side panel 5. After adding the simulator using the + icon, you can add the simulator to the desired room using the [Rooms](/doc/0f8748b8-9428-49d8-bef5-c5a67c41d0be) tab. # Connecting Elevate Healthcare simulators using a wired connection 1. When a simulator is connected to LearningSpace using an Ethernet connection and is turned ON 2. It is listed in the ***Simulators*** panel of the tab within 10-30 seconds. 3. Click the desired icon in the **Controls** column to add or remove the simulator. 4. To add the simulator to the desired room, use the [Rooms](/doc/0f8748b8-9428-49d8-bef5-c5a67c41d0be) tab. :::warning A **Wireless Bridge** is necessary for setting up a correct connection. Third-party (non-Elevate Healthcare) simulators are captured using display capture technology 2. Take the video output of the waveform display of the third-party simulator (it can be DVI-D, or HDMI) 3. Run a video cable to the input of the device and convert the connector if required: 1. UltraPortable: DVI input of the USB FrameGrabber 2. ONE appliance: HDMI input of the ONE appliance 3. Server appliance: HDMI input of the HDMI encoder 4.
