# ▪️ How can I complete LDAP synchronization?

Configure LDAP synchronization in [**Directory Access Settings**](/doc/9d83c700-dcee-49ee-b148-8c74eaec8580) in the [**System**](/doc/be5530d2-d0c0-4f40-aa21-0a3f564330ce).

Contact your organization’s network administrator or IT professional for the exact details of your directory server.

1. Once your [**connection is established with the directory server(s)**](/doc/5e028d14-1fe8-47ad-8fde-079cb650d878),  switch on the **Use for Sync** toggle to continue.
2. Provide the name and password of the query user of your directory server.

3. Also, provide the query base.
4. At **Mapping**, enter the attributes used on your directory server that correspond with each personal detail field (e.g., first name, email, UCID, etc.).

   Only the **Card ID** field is optional; all other fields are **mandatory**.

   Each time you synchronize groups, **LearningSpace Experience** will update user details in these fields accordingly.

5. Click **Test LDAP Sync** to check if everything has been set up correctly.

   The query user requires every field set up for **Mapping**. For example, make sure that the query user has a first name and last name on your directory server; otherwise, **LDAP Sync** testing will fail.
