Handoff

A handoff is the process of transferring information about a patient during transitions of care.

In the case of SCE, transition corresponds to the start of the simulation when the learner is presented with the scenario. A handoff provides detailed information that serves as a reference for the receiving provider (i.e., the learner).

History

A comprehensive account of a patient's medical and psychological background, including allergies, medical history, code status, and relevant factors in the family and environment that may influence the patient's condition.

The medical history is essential in establishing a diagnosis and developing an adequate treatment plan.

Orders

A written prescription is prepared by the learner regarding the exact treatment of the patient, including the diagnosis, admission orders, medicines to be administered, and lab results to be obtained.

If applicable, the Orders tab may contain information divided according to the different states of the simulated experience.
