# Open-Ended Question Scoring - OEQS :::info *==Necessary privilege:==* Users with ***Open-Ended Question Scoring Data Entry*** privileges can rate answers to open-ended questions by clicking the **OEQS** button on the **Your Activities** panel. Such notes are displayed below the question on the ***Learner response*** page. ::: Scoring textual items of a [**checklist**](/doc/checklists-case-parts-MEst6SU79S) has three available techniques. When clicking the **Points** button, a drop-down menu appears for selecting the scoring method: ### Direct scoring When Direct scoring is selected, a **Max. Clicking the button opens the [**Keywords Setup**](/doc/how-to-set-up-keyword-scoring-Cl4VW8wfxV) pop-up, where any word can be set with a fixed value. In such a case, the system will calculate the recommended score for either listed word. ### Questionnaire-based scoring **Questionnaire-based scoring** entails evaluation completed by answering a set of questions.
