# ◾ How to Use the Annotations Panel - Legacy version

Access the **Video review** screen for the desired video.


:::tip
If the **Annotations** panel is not visible, select the **Show/Hide Annotations** icon in the **Window layout settings** window or click the **Annotations** tab on the left edge of the screen.

The **Annotations** panel appears on the left side of the recording window.

## If adding a preset annotation:


1. Select a category by clicking a category icon to have the list of preset annotations within that category.
2. At the relevant part of the recording, click the annotation intended to be added.

The added annotation will be listed below the **preset annotations** with the exact time of the attachment and the learner's name, and it will also be marked **color-coded** on the timeline.

***NOTE:*** The learner's name can be removed by clicking the **X** next to it.

3\. The video will jump to that point When clicking any of the added annotations.

## If adding a customized annotation:


1. Type the annotation in the bar at the top of the panel.  
   The gray icons next to the bar will be activated.
2. Select the **Add annotation** or the **Save and Add annotation** icon.

**Add annotation**—The annotation will be listed below the preset annotations with the exact time of the attachment and the learner's name, and it will also be marked color-coded on the timeline. However, it will not be available to use when annotating other videos.

**Save** **and** **add** **annotation**—the annotation will be listed below the preset annotations, marked color-coded on the timeline, and added to the preset annotations.
