# ◾ How to Import and Synchronize Users from Your Directory Server :::info Available to users with User Manager or Admin privileges. ::: If a directory server is [**configured for synchronization**](/doc/how-to-configure-ldap-synchronization-zRqlnJJQfk), groups can be created in the [**Users**](/doc/user-manager-jY5BSEdZwv) module by importing users from the directory server. Imported groups can then be synchronized at a later time. :::warning Only **users imported from your directory server** can be synchronized. Users originally created in **LearningSpace Enterprise** cannot be synchronized, even if their data matches a user stored on the directory server. ::: 1. **Create or open the group to which** you want to import users. 2. Turn on *Enable* at LDAP sync. Select a directory server from the drop-down if multiple directories are configured for synchronization. 5. The query base is automatically passed down from [**LDAP Synchronization Settings**](/doc/0c8bbadb-7cb7-43cf-97cf-dd8fd77e4554)**.** :::info To change the **Query base**, return to [**Directory Access Settings**](/doc/directory-access-settings-S81luUrTCx) in [**System**](/doc/system-manager-ar9EDnlVcL). The settings can be accessed with **Admin** or **System Manager** privileges. ::: 6. Click **Sync Now** to perform a manual synchronization. :::info **LearningSpace Enterprise** automatically synchronizes imported user groups during regular nighttime system maintenance. ::: 1.
