# ◾ How to Assign Participant Groups to Activities **Assign participants** to an [**Activity**](/doc/activity-manager-8Z2fsIu6LP) to give **Learners, Faculty, or SPs access** to * [**checklists**](/doc/checklists-case-parts-MEst6SU79S), * [**video review**](/doc/video-review-ue2ApIOQx4) and - **control**, * [**scheduling**](/doc/advanced-scheduling-6uw4GlWcNY) * and more. :::info To properly [**set up an Activity**](/doc/how-to-create-an-activity-b4LMZfTzZ5), you must **select** both a *Learner group* and *a Faculty & Staff group* [**to appoint evaluators and evaluees**](/doc/assignments-tab-6wVg4cYdGO) in the **Assignments** tab to determine which **Faculty** member or **Peer** can **evaluate** which learner(s). ::: Selecting an **SP group is recommended** when you want to have **standardized patients portray the scenarios** of the Activity. **__To assign participants to an Activity:__** 1. Open an **Activity** for editing. 2. In the [**Edit Activity** pop-up](/doc/edit-activity-pop-up-uYFkqiiNhq), find the [**Participants**](/doc/participants-tab-s7Xyhg8PtB) tab. You will see all **three participant group categories**: *Faculty & Staff, SP, and Learner group.*  3. **Select a category**, and click on its drop-down. → A **list of user groups** appears instantly.  :::info Every group is listed in which **at least one member** *has a privilege corresponding with the participant group category*. (For example, the Faculty & Staff drop-down will list all the groups in which at least one member holds *a faculty privilege.*) ::: :bulb:A **search bar** is also included at each drop-down. These SP groups - **including all confirmed SPs** for a [Session](https://kb.learningspace.elevatehealth.net/s/ent-hs/doc/sessions-2aZ5cOyh5C) - will be listed and can be managed in the [**User Manager**](/doc/user-manager-jY5BSEdZwv) under **Groups,** and can be used **for setting up Events** (see [Managing Events](https://app.getoutline.com/doc/b111ec07-894e-4711-a29d-de8dfa58fea0) ) or **Scheduling** (see [Advanced Scheduling](https://app.getoutline.com/doc/713a18e8-dc2e-4ae9-b38f-affdbd23be04)).
