# ◾ How to Add New Usage to an Existing Resource Entry

1. From the [**Resource Manager**](/doc/resource-manager-jkDM9H8o9Q) screen, click the [**Resource Register**](/doc/resource-register-tab-cbIDXFgwak) tab.
2. Use the drop-down menus and date fields at the top of the register to find the resource to which the new usage is to be added.
3. Click the **Add New Resource Usage** button. A blank entry line appears for the resource.
4. Use the drop-down menus to identify the **Resource**, **Client**, **Activity**, **Event,** and **Timeslot**.
5. Enter the usage quantity in the **Quantity** field.

The **unit** of the usage quantity depends on the selected resource.

6\. To save the new usage entry, click the **checkmark**.  
To cancel the entry, click the **X**.

When a resource activity is added or changed, the clients assigned to it automatically change. The system automatically registers that usage for changes assigned to a video recording.  
The duration of the video is used to compile resource usage data.

The Favorite Resources panel updates to display the Resource Cabinets you selected as favorites.
