Evaluating Examination Competencies
Cross-Case Section Total Score
Examination competencies of learners for each section type can also be calculated. This is the purpose of the Cross-Case Section Total Score.
The Cross-Case Section Total Score is always a percentage value, the score of the learner for one particular kind of section across all the Cases of an Activity:
It is the weighted average of the Section Scores for the same type of sections of all the Cases of an Activity.
In this case, the weights will be those specified on the Activity Reporting Setup page in the Scoring—Cross-Case Section Score weights table.

sc = Section Score of a learner, for each section of one particular section type across all the Cases of an Activity ("section type" refers to sections having the same abbreviation)
wc = section weight belonging to each of the sections with the same abbreviation, defined on the Activity Reporting Setup page
n = number of Cases which include the particular section type
Example:
An Activity contains two Cases. Both have an OS (Overall Satisfaction) section, among other sections.
The weight of the OS section of the first Case is set to 200, and the weight of the OS section of the second Case is set to 120. A learner's OS section score is 65% in the first case and 80% in the second Case.
His Cross-Case Section Total Score for the OS section is: (65 * 200 + 80 * 120) / (200 + 120) = 70,6 %
Cross-Case Section Total Score is visible:
in the Your Score column of the Skill Report/ Preliminary Results report
in the Group Performance Review by Section report
in the Record Manager
in the Class Average line of the Performance Matrix, except for the last cell

Sections of different Cases are matched using the section abbreviations as specified when creating Case Content.
Based on identical section abbreviations, two sections are considered to refer to the same skill area so that they will be reported together.
For each occurring abbreviation for any of the sections of the Cases, the system reports exactly one Cross-Case Section Total Score.
Class Cross-Case Section Average
The Cross-Case Section Result can be calculated for one particular learner and a whole class. From the achieved Cross-Case Section Total Scores of the learners of each learner group, the system calculates an average score for each Activity: the Class Cross-Case Section Average.
The Class Cross-Case Section Average is a percentage value: the sum of Cross-Case Section Total Scores divided by the number of learners with records.

ccl = Cross-Case Section Total Score of each learner of the learner group of an Activity, for one particular section type in one Activity ("section type" implies the sections that have the same abbreviation)
n = number of learners in the learner group of the Activity who have a record for the Activity
Class Cross-Case Section Average is visible:
in the Class Average column of the Skill Report/ Preliminary Results report
in the section columns of the Class Average row of the Performance Matrix
