Evaluating Activity Performance

Activity Total Score

From the scores achieved for each Case of an Activity (Case total scores), the system calculates a score for each Activity: the Activity Total Score.

The Activity Total Score is always a percentage value, the average of the Case Total Scores of every Case of the Activity.

cc = Case Total Score of a learner, for each Case of one particular Activity
n = number of Cases in the Activity

Example:

An Activity contains two Cases. A learner's Case total score is 72 % for one and 65 % for the other.

In this case, the Activity Total Score is: (72 + 65) / 2 = 68,5 %

Activity Total Score is visible:

  • in the Total column of the Performance Matrix referring to one learner

  • at the bottom of the Performance Matrix page as the Final Score - only visible if the table refers to a single learner

Class Total Average

Activity results can be calculated for one particular learner and a whole class. From the achieved Activity Total Scores of the learners of each learner group, the system calculates an average score for each Activity: the Class Total Average.

The Class Total Average is a percentage value, the sum of Activity Total Scores divided by the number of learners with a record.

tl = total score of each learner of the learner group of an Activity for that particular Activity
n = number of learners of the learner group of the Activity who have a record for the Activity

Class Total Average is visible:

  • in the Score distribution report for an entire Activity as the class average, at the bottom of the Score Distribution page

  • at the bottom of the Grade Report page as the Class Average

  • in the Total column of the Class Average row of the Performance Matrix

  • at the bottom of the Performance Matrix page as the Average
