Comparison: Advanced Scheduling - Flexi Scheduling

Advanced Scheduling within LearningSpace enables the pre-programming of events, including exams, simulation exercises, lab practices, and more. Users with the necessary privilege (Admin, SRP (full control) or SRP) can schedule specific events within an Activity for the assigned group of users, using the selected Cases, time-managed explicitly in the designated Rooms.

Flexible Scheduling (‘Flexi’) solution aims to streamline and enhance the administration and execution of OSCEs by leveraging and enhancing LearningSpace's existing modules. Flexi Scheduling enhances efficiency and alleviates the administrative burden on the Faculty.

See the comparison table below.

Events can not be recurring

Rounds, spots, circles, and timeslots are used.

No rounds, spots, circles, or timeslots are necessary. Encounters are used only.

A learner must complete each Case within a round. Setting up spots and timeslots makes it more precise which student is performing the encounter on one particular station, in advance.

Learners within the Participant Group of the Activity, for which the Event has been created, have access to any of the hallway stations assigned to the event (under Rooms). However, this is not bound to a specific timeslot, they can complete the checklist anytime (during the event of course) - hence the name “Flexible” scheduling.
