How to set up Joint Evaluation

The Joint Evaluation Option enables grouping questions for OEQS scoring in the Case Manager. With this feature, questions can be linked in the Case editor so that they can be graded together using a single grading questionnaire in OEQS.

A joint‑evaluation item always relies on a main item that uses a questionnaire scoring method.

One or more joint‑evaluation items can be linked to a main item simultaneously.

The Joint evaluation option is available for text and structured text items in the Pre-encounter and Post-encounter parts of a case.
NOTE: Only questions within the same case part and section can be linked.

  • Select the Joint Evaluation option in the Scoring method drop-down.

  • The ‘Select question to joint’ dropdown lists only questions with a special section questionnaire assigned to them.

IMPORTANT: A joint item can only select a main question from within the same section; the main question must be located in the same section as the joint item.

If no question is selected here, the Scoring panel of the OEQS Scoring page will display “No linked question defined”.

  • Questions linked to the item with the special section grading questionnaire are considered “Not Scored” from a score calculation and reporting perspective.

REUSE / COPY

  • Section reuse/copy:

    • If sections with joint evaluation groups are reused within case parts that allow joint evaluation, the main-joint question relation remains.

    • If sections with joint evaluation groups are reused within case parts that do not allow joint evaluation, the joint question will be set as not scored.

  • Question reuse/copy: If only a joint evaluation question is reused (copied), it will be set to not-scored by default (which can be manually modified if necessary).

  • Case copy: After a case copy, the joint evaluation connections are kept.

IMPORTANT: Reports will display scores for the scored item and no scores for the linked items (joint questions).
Responses tab, Case Item Analysis, Individual Checklist Report, and Comments Report will continue to refer to joint questions as “Not Scored. “

Joint evaluation is available even if the OEQS AI Assistant is not active in a LearningSpace instance.
